Subtraction Fiesta 

Subtraction Fiesta is a curriculum based application, oriented on developing mental calculation strategies for subtraction.  The objective is to make it super easy to use in a classroom environment and it can  be easily integrated  in  a primary school curriculum.

This game is also  part of google Indie Game  developer contest. We try  to present an innovative way  to learn  with educational  game , and change something not fun ( subtraction) , into  a fun  and exciting learning experiment.

We focus on three features: 

​

1.  We develop mental math strategies for subtraction  with a kind of single player campaign .

​

2. We  develop  word problems games so kids understand subtraction. 

​

3. We develop a multiplayer  gaming interface to play  tournament, friendly  competition  with subtraction.  The objective  is to bring  excitement  in the classroom and peers to peers self motivation.

it will display a star for each level the kid made with all correct answers. 

It is easy to check   which strategies the kid need to work on. 

 

Instructions are straight forwards. For kindergarten, you need to click on animals.  For primary school kids, you write the  calculation 'answer  on the calculator and press "OK" to check the answer. If the answer is correct, you move to the next question and you win stars as you progress.  if you write a incorrect answer, the robot tells you it, and you are blocked until you find the correct answer. It is voluntary so kids cannot just click everywhere  to pass the level.
